Welcome and thank you for visiting my website. Hopefully you will find something of interest where I can help you with your emotional needs. If you have any questions feel free to call or e-mail me.
After a long career as a pediatric nurse and having experienced my own traumatic events, I decided to become a therapist. Coping with distressing life events have given me the strength to go on, and has made me a better therapist.
Since I became a Marriage and Family Therapist a little later in life, I am able to combine both my academic work and life experiences in order to meet your needs.
Both in my work as a Registered Nurse and my personal life experiences I have seen how trauma, fear and emotional distress impacts our lives.
I continue to pursue professional development, including training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which has proven very beneficial for people overcoming trauma.
The focus of my practice is to help you normalize your life after a traumatic or stressful event.
- Being abused as a child or adult and still have lingering effects
- Losing a beloved family member, friend or pet
- Suffering from anxiety or depression
- Experiencing relationship conflicts, employment issues, or a chronic or terminal illness
No therapist can solve your problems for you. Working in collaboration with me, you can better understand your feelings so that you can overcome your challenges and become a happier, more productive person. For therapy to be effective, you must be able to trust your therapist. I provide a safe, confidential environment where you are free to express yourself without being judged.
I approach therapy with the understanding that each client is unique and has different needs. Therefore my treatment is tailored to your issues and what feels comfortable to you.
My clients include adults and seniors in individual, couples and group therapy.
Give me a call and we can discuss how you can benefit from my work.
